Travel: Panama & Costa Rica Day 12-14: Tamarindo

After leaving Monteverde, we headed to Tamarindo for the last few days of our trip. I've already captured the tours that we did while from Tamarindo in other posts, so in this post I'll share more about Tamarindo.

Tamarindo is very much a beach resort town. Our hotel had a private area next to the beach, but I believe the beach itself is public. Being on the Pacific ocean, it has beautiful sunsets.

There were also lots of Brown Pelicans and White Ibis flying over the coast around sunset. My photos of them aren't as clear as I'd like because I was lounging in the hotel's private area instead of walking down to the beach.

We also heard Howler Monkeys often during breakfast. We only saw them during our final evening, but we were out for dinner and I didn't have my camera with me.

Tamarindo was very hot, so we retreated to the room often to cool down in the air conditioning. Our room had a tree on the balcony outside where I was able to snap some bird photos there.

Our final dinner in Tamarindo, and of the trip was a lovely experience from Tropic Tamardino. We had a tasting menu with chef's choice of food and drink pairings. The restaurant owners were the folks making food, choosing drinks and serving us. They were accommodating to dietary restrictions and taste preferences. But most importantly they had Cacao, the Chihuahua and Guacamole, the cat. At this point in the trip I was so dog sick that a little Chihuahua who reminded me of peanut was a welcome reminder to who I'd be coming home to the next day!

A tan Chihuahua lies on a floor inside a building with his purple ball outside on a gravel floor.
Cacao lies on the floor with his ball in the foreground. I got to play ball with him between our courses.
Guacamole the cat sits on a table with his tail wrapped around his front legs.
This table was reserved for Guacamole only!

The dinner at Tropic Tamarindo was a wonderful way to conclude our two week vacation.
